About Syed Asif
Syed Asif is an SEO Consultant & Digital Marketing Freelancer from Islamabad, Pakistan, with 5 years of experience, 150+ completed projects, and 30+ local SEO wins. He helps businesses rank on Google and get cited by AI search engines.
I'm a practitioner, not a theorist. I started in SEO in 2019, learned it the hard way — on real sites, with real budgets, in competitive markets — and went freelance so I could do the work myself instead of handing it to juniors.
Today I work with businesses and agencies across the US, UK, and beyond: technical SEO, local SEO, link building, Google Ads, and websites built to rank. And since search itself changed, I've gone deep on AI search — Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — so my clients show up in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity too.
How I work: no retainer bloat, no junior handoffs. You get a written plan before anything starts, plain-language monthly reporting while it runs, and full ownership of everything I create — content, links, accounts, code. I keep a small client roster on purpose, so every project gets senior attention instead of leftover hours.
My rule is simple: if I can't move the needle for you, I'll tell you before you spend a rupee or a dollar. That honesty is why clients stay.
How I got here
2019 — Started in SEO
I got into SEO the practical way: building sites, breaking them, and learning what actually moves rankings. Technical audits, on-page, and the fundamentals — learned by doing.
Went freelance
I started taking on my own clients and discovered I preferred it: direct communication, full ownership of results, and no agency overhead between the work and the client.
150+ projects
Across local businesses, content sites, lead-gen builds, and agencies — including 30+ local SEO projects. Every engagement sharpened the process I use today: audit, strategy, execute, report.
AI-search specialization
When AI Overviews and ChatGPT changed how people find answers, I rebuilt my playbook around entity SEO, AEO, and GEO — so clients rank in classic search and get cited by AI.

Tools I actually use
Tools don't rank sites — judgment does. But the right stack makes the judgment faster and the data trustworthy. Here's what's open on my screen most days, and why each one earned its place:
Screaming Frog
Deep technical crawls: broken links, redirect chains, indexation issues, and site architecture.
Ahrefs
Backlink analysis, competitor research, keyword gaps, and content opportunities.
SEMrush
Keyword tracking, site audits, and competitive intelligence across markets.
Google Search Console
The ground truth: queries, impressions, CTR, and indexation straight from Google.
GA4
What happens after the click — conversions, engagement, and revenue attribution.
Looker Studio
Client dashboards that show rankings, traffic, and calls in one honest view.
